Tools that can be used in online assessment

 Online assessment tools for teachers are a necessary part in the online teaching. Teacher must always evaluate their students on the spot to make sure they attain the needed knowledge from the explained topic or to guide students in the learning process to be more engaged, so it is essential to use different assessment tools during the online learning. Google form is one of the best tools used in the learning process for both the teachers and the students. It is so simple to create a quiz with different types of questions such as multiple choice, short answer, labeling, multiple choice grid, and drawing a picture...and making an answer key with feedback.  Teacher can view graphs and summary of frequently missed answers or wrong answers and highlight them.  In addition, google makes it easier for students to answer questions by clicking a drop-down, typing a fast text answer, or posting a short YouTube video. Teachers can also share grades with students. It is really an effective tools for both teachers and students.

Mentimeter is another useful assessment tool. It comes pre-loaded with education templates for the classroom like listening skills assessment, icebreakers, surveys, and poll.

Poll Everywhere gets a snapshot of where students are struggling by creating questions as word clouds, open students responses, or multiple-choice options. We can collect data , formative evaluation and diagnostic evaluation.

word wall is another application we can use it during the online sessions where we can let all students share at the same time in a specific time. We can control and monitor the activity.

Jamboard  is a useful app that teacher can use it to ask a question and take different answers from different  students at the same time. In this way all students are sharing and we save time. The students can ask about any unclear thing.

In today’s day and age (especially in the Zoom era), there is an abundance of ways to stay connected and share information, including the use of social media. We rely on social media platforms to keep in touch with friends and family, read the news, keep up with current trends, share our thoughts and more.

It is really essential to train students and people in general to well-use the different kinds of technology in the learning process.  Nowadays learning forced students and teachers to acquire basic knowledge and skills with good experience in accessing the internet through computers, mobiles, and tablets. A technological citizen must be aware of the technological surroundings. A responsible digital citizen should be respectful and behave appropriately while handling the information in an online world. Digital Citizenship helps teachers, technocrats and parents to identify what students, technology users, and children must know to make use of technology in an appropriate manner.

 Use digital technology elements for gathering information. With the varieties of digital tools and techniques available. People can make use of these latest elements for getting information regarding any kind of topics. Digital citizen must be aware of using different online tool to engage in nowadays learning and working.

What can I do now that I was not able to do a year ago

Because of Covid-19 and the lockdown, I am able now to attend classes from my home, my bed with my hot coffee. now, I can work and learn at the same time because everything becomes online. Online learning gave me the chance to watch the recorded sessions at the time I want without being obliged to attend the class and instead I can do my job. No paper courses, all of them are saved on my desktop, without losing any course or at least I can ask for and get it at the time without waiting for the next day to copy it from my friends. know all need to implement technology in learning, in work, in all things, thus we will have a society that has improved knowledge about technology and how to use different applications and platforms. Online learning facilitates the integrating of educational games in an efficient way, and take advantage of it and enhance the learning progress of pupils.
